UA Front Yard Twin Kitchen Garden
Finding the right space and set up for kitchen gardens makes all of the difference.
This is especially true for this twin kitchen garden that we installed in 2020 in the Upper Arlington area of Columbus, Ohio.
The first thing we do during a consult is review our client’s yard and existing landscaping.
This client already had a single raised bed in their backyard but she was feeling underwhelmed by the success of it.
Some things grew, some things didn’t. They had tried to move it to different locations without much of a change in results.
She wanted a vegetable garden that didn’t look like we plopped a random raised bed in the yard and she wanted it to be manageable and fun to work in with her young daughters.
We found the perfect spot in her front yard, just off to the side in an area that was totally unused.
Before
We installed two raised beds with an arched trellis and transformed this space from non-functional, to a beautiful and thriving kitchen garden.
After
For the past two years we have watched this client and her girls grow together in their garden. In year one they opted for monthly coaching sessions so they could learn what garden tasks to tackle each month.
In year two this client decided to take advantage or our seasonal planting service.
We have loved watching our amazing client grow and thrive in this kitchen garden.
